ISO 27001 is an international standard for information security. The standard is a tool for the organization's management to secure its information in a broad sense. This includes data/information of all kinds. Many perceive ISO 27001 as a management tool for the IT department, but this is by no means correct. ISO 27001 is about managing and, not least, securing information, regardless of whether it is on digital media or not.
The purpose of ISO/IEC 27001 is to establish a solid information security management system that meets the needs of the company and, not least, the customer. In an uncertain world, information security management systems are constantly changing and optimizing.

What is NIS 2

What is the NIS2 directive? In relation to ISO 27001, NIS 2 is a sub-element as ISO 27001 works significantly broader than just IT security. This means that if you follow ISO 27001, you are well covered in relation to the requirements of NIS 2.

The NIS2 Directive is an updated EU cybersecurity law that builds on the previously published NIS Directive (NISD). NIS 2 has several purposes, some of which should be mentioned here:

1. Increasing IT security in general
2. Ensure a level playing field and reporting rules across Europe
